Restatement of NMA need for development committee

General operating model

  • Preliminary plans for NMA support to OSHG development committee
  • OSHG Committee develops projects and provides concrete plans for execution and evaluation.
  • The planning, execution, and evaluation would be like the previous crowdfunding
  • Crowdfunding OpenSim development. It works
  • The OSHG committee specifies a project, including evaluation, contractor, and cost.
  • NMA (or some other funding source) offers to fund that specific project.
  • NMA pays the contractor when the OSHG committee certifies that the project meets requirement and has been released to OpenSimulator or other open source outlet.
  • The OSHG committee may seek support from any source it chooses.
  • NMA may or may not choose to support a particular project.
  • NMA and the OSHG committee function as independent entities.
  • NMA can only support projects that will result in release of code to open source.
  • We hope that the OSHG committee will advance OSHG in many other ways.
