The quaint idea persists that virtual worlds are for entertainment.  So we have a  list of educational games. If you are going to be entertained, you may as well learn something at the same time.

        Or do-it-yourself gamification of what you have to learn.  

        • Pick a learning objective.  
        • If you can't find a learning objective, ask the teacher.
        • Figure out what would convince someone that you have met that objective.
        • Figure out what steps will get you to that goal. 
        • Do the steps one at a time.  
        • The winning score is 10 times the number of steps.
        • Give yourself 10 points for each step you complete successfully.
        • When you get to the winning score, you win. 
        • You also learned a bit about reaching goals.
