Good hats are art to wear
The Art in Hats and Hats in Art event is a charity benefit based on the view that hats are art and should be treated that way. The charity is American Diabetes Association in Second Life.  The event is an exhibition of hats viewed as objects of art.

ART in HATS and HATS in ART is back 

  • for another year of fun, whimsy, artistic expression and entertainment! 
  • Contests open to the public with prizes, 
  • A variety of entertainment, and art
  • The most exciting display of hats in Second Life 
  • Hats and images are to be sold or are given as freebies. 
  • One of a kind pieces to be sold in a live auction for charity.

    The mission of Team Diabetes of Second Life is to raise awareness of diabetes, promote greater understanding of the issues those suffering from diabetes face, and to raise funds to further research into cures for diabetes.

    • GRAND OPENING DAY November 7, 2015 - Featuring Fashion Hat Shows and a Grand Gala Event - Open to the public
    • BRING IT ON Public Styling Contest November 8, 2016 at 3 PM SLT
    • FINAL DAY LINE UP November 14, 2015 Including:
    • TOP FASHION STYLE SHOW 2 PM
    • PUBLIC HAT CONTEST WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT & CHARITY AUCTION 4 PM
    • FINAL CHANCE SHOPPING PARTY 8 PM

     The coordinator of Art in Hats 2015 is Emma Portilo and this year ART in HATS - HATS in ART has selected Team Diabetes of Second Life, an official and authorized team of the American Diabetes Association, as a charitable beneficiary of the event. A portion of proceeds will go to the charity and we will be holding a unique hat auction at the end of the event with exclusive designs!

      The Hypergrid WIP Show

      The Hypergrid WIP is a one hour "show & tell" of works in progress or recently completed. All builders from beginner to pro are invited.  Presentations are in voice and text.  For text presentations, best bring the text in a notecard and paste it into chat.  Voice presentations may be captured in video.  Stills and videos from the show may appear in this blog.
